Nexuiz Portals model and DAC

Hi there people.
Long time no talk here. At least if feels like that for me, and I bet it is. Will have to check the last date I posted something here after this.
But anyway, just to fill you guys in whats been happening. I've started to model a Nexuiz portals model. What this actually is is the following: Nexuiz has a gun which created two portals, one 'start' and one 'end' portal. I even think 'teleporters' are a better word but they are called portals in Nexuiz. You step into the 'start' portal and you're teleported to the 'end' portal. Now this works only one way, so you cannot step into the 'end' portal and come out from the 'start' portal.

Now that's the actual description. But be sure to check that portal gun out in game. It's actually called 'Port-O-Launch' that gun.

Aside from that, I also have updated the 3D Buzz competition scene, unfortunately Maya kept crashing when I was only halfdone with my entry due to insufficient memory. So I wasn't able to submit anything as I wasn't even finished with my entry. This latest image shows how far I actually got into the competition. But I will still finish this piece in my spare time. I don't want to give up on this yet :)

That's it for today guys. Hope my next post won't be so far along into the future.

ADP Videos

So, I told myself that I would finish the storyboard yesterday but I got second thoughts about to whereas I should do it. The reason to why that was, was because I need to think up the title, the project name, the project "team" name and a few more. Now the title and project team name isn't important but what is important is that I need to know how long those things are going to be and how much things are actaully gonna show, and I do not know that currently so that means I cannot work with that just yet. Instead what I gonna do is take some time now and watch the ADP (Advanced Digital Production) videos. Now it's mostly the introductions to those different programs I'm gonna be using but I think it's important that I at least one have watch them through so that I have stored that info at the back of my head. Then later I will have easier to learn those things that I may have forgot.

I've also been thinking of creating a website, more like a portfolio, with work in progress, finished work, information/bio and other stuff. It's just that I don't have that much time and with another such big project will be very much in my already busy schedule, which was why I didn't just went ahead and create one before. But now I see that maybe I won't have a choice. As I want more control to how to manage my files, images, videos and overall look. And with this Blogspot, well for one I will be limited to only 1GB (which is quite much) but sooner or later I will be needing more. There may come a time where you will be permitted more space in the future but that's not something I'm taking my chances on. In a 3D/CG production environment you quickly will get to the point where it exceeds that amount, and plus as I said, I want more control on those other things.

But yeah, this whole day I'm gonna take to skim through those ADP videos and I'll see what I'm gonna come up with.

A short break

I'm writing here just to say that I will be taking a short break in the 3D modeling for a little while, the reason is that I've got other things that needs to be taken care of which has a higher priority (has to so with my company). I haven't been able to work on the head model for two days and possible a couple of more days will have to go by before I can dig in on it again.
But trust me, I try to finish the other tasks as quickly as possible just to return to the awesome world of 3D.

I've also registered to 3D Buzz's (www.3dbuzz.com) amazing MasteringMaya - Advanced Digital Production class and now I hope that my registration will get accepted before they close the registration process. Let's cross my fingers, been saving up for this class for quite some time, would be ironic not to get enrolled in it at the end.

Anyway, this was just a quick notice just to let you guys know what's goes on.
Later.
